Shabbat Shalom!
Tomorrow, B”H, we will read Parashat Ha’azinu, which comes right after Yom Kippur.
In this parasha, we read the prophetic song of Moshe Rabbeinu, where he describes what will happen in the end of days.
Within the song it says: “Ki Shem Hashem Ekra Havu Godel Le’Elokeinu” (For I will proclaim the name of Hashem; ascribe
greatness to our God) (Devarim 32:3).
From this verse, Chazal understood that when we hear the mention of Hashem’s name (during the Torah reading or in
blessings), we should respond: “Baruch Hu u’varuch Shemo.”
May we merit, with the help of Hashem, to continue the uplifting spirit of Yom Kippur, filled with elevation, teshuva, and with
the response of “Baruch Hu u’varuch Shemo,” as well as the answering of “Amen” throughout the year.
Shabbat Shalom umevorach!
Rabbi Eliahu Barzilai !
